Holidays are supposed to be a time of joy and celebration, For families to come together and share the love they have for each other. But for most people it is a time of stress and panic. We have forgotten the true Original meaning of Christmas.
“So what is the Original meaning of Christmas?”
Great question! To answer that we need to take a small jump back in time. Back before it was called Christmas, back before the time of Christ back to a time when it was called Saturnalia.
Saturnalia was a week long period of Parting till you drop. Celebrated between December 17-25. During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law said that no one could be punished for anything they did.. The festival began when Romans chose “an enemy”. Each community selected one whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week. On December 25th, They would “destroy the forces of darkness” by brutally murdering the innocent man or woman they had chosen to be the “enemy” .
“That seams A bit different than it is now.” You know something, I think you may be right.
In the 4th century CE, Christianity imported the Saturnalia festival hoping to convert the pagan masses with it, by promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia as Christians.. The earliest Christmas holidays were celebrated by drinking, sexual indulgence, singing naked in the streets (a precursor of modern caroling) and human sacrifice.
Christmas was actually kinda like a week long Purge movie. So let’s get back to the true meaning of Christmas and sacrifice someone! A little too far?
Well how about instead of committing horrors we give some Horror…. and some Humor.

I got one of the bookplates back in the mail today with not enough postage stamped on it. I had it weighed and sent from the post office……

Really?? Sorry. I would be taking that up with the post office. How can they be the ones to weigh it and ship it, and then return it like that.. super lame on their end.

Scary little green thingies…Reblogged, shared via FB, tweeted and going to flush the image out of my brain. Happy Saturnalia.
Btw, The Blogging Hobgoblin is a tongue twister. I tried saying it really fast for 10 times and almost fell off my chair. Laughing, of course. Whatever else could it have been (*eye roll)?
