I listened to the Audio Book that was excellently narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds.
I love the authors intro about his writing process but I am a book nerd so that’s no surprise. What did surprise me was how fast I finished the book. I listened to the whole 17 hours in one sitting and wanted more.
For the past few years Michael J. Sullivan has been one on of my top 10 authors. He consistently writes fantastic dialog spoken by great characters. The plots are always good also. This book takes place on the same world as Sullivan’s other series, The Riyria Revelations and The Riyria Chronicles. But takes place around 3,000 years before them.
I fell in love with this book right from the beginning. I was a little concerned in the middle of Age of Myth because one plot line seemed so predictable to me. But it turns out it was supposed to be that way to throw me off the trail of a different plot line and it was done beautifully.
All in all this book was completely worth ignoring everyone around me for a day and losing a little bit of sleep. I rate it at a 5 out of 5 stars.
